Massengena, also known as Yucca, is one of the plants that is frequently used in interior decoration. Yukka plant, which likes to get plenty of light, is one of the easy-to-maintain plant species due to its durable body and not being watered too often.

Yuka can bloom in late summer.

• YUKA VARIETIES
• Yucca (yuka) genus from Asparagacee (Asparagus) family has 49 species and 24 subspecies. Cultivars of the showy varieties were also derived. The homeland of all its species is the North American continent and Central America. A few species are also found in the South American continent.
• You can tell if you are accustomed to the sun or not: Yucca leaves are very hard and thick. If not, it is very deprived of the sun. Or that plant is not Yucca, but a type of Dracaena. Some dracaena species and Yucca species are very similar to each other.
• YUKA PLANT IRRIGATION
• Yuka does not like water much. Never water the soil before it dries. It withstands thirst but can get sick in moist soil.
• Irrigation is done less frequently in winter and more frequently in summer due to heat. You can create an irrigation period according to the climate of your place of residence. If the soil dries up rapidly in summer, you can control the soil moisture and follow its irrigation.
• YUKA PLANT NEEDS SUN
• It is a plant that loves to take air. It also needs more light to keep the leaf form steep. It can take in plenty of filtered daylight. It should not be exposed to the sun at a right angle.
• Does not like very cold or very hot environments. Daily air requirement should be met regularly.
• IF THE LEAVES OF YUKA PLANT DRY ATTENTION
• Yuka plant does not like to touch other objects. If it is exposed to draft, breeze, air conditioning or heater for a long time, drying and scarring will occur on its leaves.
• HOW IS YUKA PLANT STOPPED AND GROWN?
• If there are a few branches in the yucca body, it is cut with a sterilized flat-tipped cutter near the body. It is left to be rooted in water by waiting for a certain period of time. Water should be changed every 10-15 days. If you do not change its water, because the oxygen content in the water decreases, the plant cannot produce roots and rot.
• When the root length reaches at least 15 cm, you can transfer it to a new pot.
• WHY DO THE YUKA PLANT’S LEAVES TURN?
• As a soil, you can prefer a permeable soil that does not retain water. Yucca does not like plant foods purchased for green leafy ones. It causes yellowing of leaves.
