Seed Center and Food Sovereignty

Bodrum Municipality opened the Agriculture R&D and Local Seed Center, which is one of the cornerstones of the project “Bodrum Returns to Its Essence”. As you know, the concept of “food sovereignty” is very important in the world. It was felt more during the pandemic process how vital this issue is and that it is one of the priority issues of our country.

Foreign dependency in basic agricultural products is a risky situation. Food sovereignty refers to an understanding that envisages relying primarily on domestic production, applying original national agricultural policies in this context and protecting domestic markets from all kinds of international negative effects. This starts from seed. Recently, valuable studies have been carried out in this direction. I congratulate Bodrum Municipality, Mayor Ahmet Aras and his team. The first step has been taken, but the real work starts after that. We live in a country enriched with the abundance of olives. What is the peculiarity of this olive harvest and olives? First, I want to tell you about Hapimag Sea Garden Bodrum. I say We need such facilities. It is very important to applaud the good things done in our country and to introduce them as an example. Sea Garden’s history goes back many years. In the facility, which is established on 191 decares of land and has three bays with blue flags; There are 9 restaurants in 3 main locations: hotel, holiday village and Mini Bodrum Street. The rise in the country’s oldest brand, but in 2013 Hapimag Resort Operations Director for Turkey Kerem international slats of the plant with the arrival Demirkol’s management is moving even higher.

Sausages – I think everyone just goes with whatever sausages they like, but sometimes there are 2-3 kinds on a plate. We went with regular breakfast sausages and we also got a bit of black pudding, which seems like most people insist on having as well.
Back Bacon – This isn’t your regular bacon, which is made from pork belly, nope, back bacon is bacon that includes a little bit of the loin, kinda like a super thin pork chop but smoked. From what I can see, this kind of bacon isn’t really crispy.
Eggs – Pretty straight forward, all the full English plates I’ve seen have sunny side up eggs.
Tomatoes – These guys are cut in half along the equator and then seared in the pan and seasoned with salt and pepper. They aren’t really cooked, just given a little bit of color.
Mushrooms – Seems like a take or leave it item, but we’re going all out here so of course mushrooms are needed. They’re cooked in the usual way, nicely browned and caramelized
Toast – Don’t call it toast because I’ve seen some internet fights break out about the bread. You can’t just use a toaster and call it a day. The bread has to be FRIED, either with butter or oil.
Beans – You have to have beans! I mean, I’ve never really had beans at breakfast, but it’s classic. We went for Heinz because that’s what they do in England and because their teal cans are too cute.

Unfortunately, yes. The hot sugar and gelatin mixture takes about 20 minutes to whip up on high and the fluffier it gets, the stickier and more difficult it is to whip. Our current mixer is the KitchenAid Artisan Mini and it’s awesome, but sold out everywhere as of this writing. There are some available on amazon still, although refurbished.

Cut jumbo marshmallows in half with a pair of scissors.
Dip the sticky sides into icing sugar, then shake off the excess.
Decorate with melted orange candy melts noses and melted dark chocolate eyes and mouths.

If I manage to venture out to the store, even though I have a short list, what are the chances I find a few other yummy ALDI holiday treats waiting for me on the shelves? 100%.

But also, what about if you’re not wanting to / able to leave the house right now? VERY RELATABLE. You can shop ALDI via Instacart which is how I do 90% of my real-life ALDI shopping. Not sure about you, but I almost always have to work a little harder to make my cart total get past $35 for free delivery because ALDI is so affordable! Oh darn, looks like I need to throw in a few extra boxes of our favorite wheat crackers, a couple of packages of amazing marinated olives, and at least three bricks of goat cheese with blueberries. Shoot. Bummer. …How soon can it get here?

Here’s what happens: we just layer all the good things. Whisked eggs, biscuits, cheddar cheese, green chile sausage gravy…

If I manage to venture out to the store, even though I have a short list, what are the chances I find a few other yummy ALDI holiday treats waiting for me on the shelves? 100%.
