The paste (which is just boiled, blended fresh aji amarillo) is probably the most common, and is well-worth purchasing if that’s all you can find. And since most sauces involving aji amarillo call for paste instead of minced chiles, it’s certainly a time-saver. If you’re wary about adding yet another chile to your pantry, keep in mind that aji amarillo tastes different from other more widely available capsicums. It’s a perfect everyday chile to compliment a meal without overwhelming it, as versatile and inimitable as it is delicious.

I personally prefer them dried; I like the concentrated, sweeter flavor reminiscent of raisins or sun-dried tomatoes, and they remain just as subtle and rounded as their fresh counterparts. Dried chiles are also convenient: you can buy as many as you like since they’re good for years, and then only use what you need, unlike with canned varieties.

Ulus said, “Unfortunately, some people sell tomatoes that are grown in other regions without tomatoes in our region as Çanakkale tomato. That is to say, they are deceiving the consumer.”

“When we cut our Çanakkale tomato in two, you will see icing and fogging in this tomato. It is not possible to see this in the tomato grown elsewhere. This is the most important feature of our tomato. This is due to the excess potassium in our soil. Tomatoes are sought after by the consumer. The taste of Çanakkale tomatoes is given by the excess potassium in our soils and the winds blowing from Kaz Mountains and Çanakkale Strait.

Noting that round table tomatoes come to mind when the Çanakkale tomato is mentioned, İlhan Ulus said, “This tomato is a tomato with a legendary taste and flavor. Everyone looks for this tomato. But besides this tomato, the tomato we call industrial type paste is also sought. Consumers buy this sharp tomato from the market and make its paste. The round tomato is used by the consumer in salads and meals, but our biggest value is the round tomato as Çanakkale tomato. The tomato is planted in Çanakkale in 3 periods. It has come to an end. Now our mid-season tomatoes are coming out. Our tomatoes, which we call the last early October, will appear at the end of September and the beginning of October. They will continue until November. Big metropolises such as Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara and Bursa have their eyes on Çanakkale tomatoes. They take Çanakkale tomatoes to their stalls and put them. We are having a lot of difficulty in responding to requests, “he said.

When we say Tarhana, the first thing that comes to mind is a powder mixture that plays alone in the farthest corner of the refrigerator during the winter months. Tarhana, which smells slightly sour yoghurt and that we think it spoiled when its sour smell intensifies, is a super food that we usually don’t focus on in big cities where life flows so fast, but has been consumed for centuries in the Anatolian countryside.

Tarhana is a fermented food that is made all over Anatolia as a winter preparation and produced in traditional ways. It is generally made by mixing flour or wheat with yoghurt and herbal products, turning it into dough and fermenting this dough. However, the production method and the materials in its content differ from region to region. Tarhana production depends on the variety of local products, natural vegetation, climate, animal husbandry and most importantly the traditions, customs and taste of the person making the tarhana. If you go to Devrek district of Zonguldak, you will see that the tarhana produced in Çolakpehlivan village there are different from the tarhana produced in Dedeköylü village, which is three kilometers further away. And even Fatma Teyze’s tarhana and her next-door neighbor Asuman Granny’s tarhana vary.

Is cinnamon roll icing the best part of a cinnamon roll? I think the little medium rare nugget in the middle is the best, but gooey, drippy cream cheese icing comes close. Make sure you ice your rolls when they’re still warm so the icing nestles itself into all the noodles and crannies.
To make cinnamon roll icing
Simply mix together room temp cream cheese, soft butter, and powdered sugar. The key is to use room temp cream cheese so you don’t get any cream cheese lumps. You can also add a touch of vanilla.

Overnight cinnamon rolls
To make overnight cinnamon rolls, after shaping and cutting the rolls, pop them in the pan and wrap well with plastic wrap. Let the rolls rise overnight in the fridge. The next day, 1 hour before you’re going to bake, let them rest on the counter top, then bake as directed.

Nowadays, braids are everywhere we look—so it makes sense that you’d want to get in on the plaited trend. But certain braids do require quite a bit of skill to master. That being said, a girls’ night could be the perfect time to experiment with the season’s hottest braiding styles, so that the next time you wake up late, it will be no sweat off your back—or your style. To get you started, we’re sharing three of our favorite braids.

Try a Dutch braid. These inverted braids are actually a lot easier than they look. It won’t require a bunch of steps or intricate weaving. Whereas traditional three-strand French braids are created with an underhand braiding technique, to achieve this look, you’ll want to weave overhand, incorporating new sections of hair with every weave. It’s really that simple.

Try a skeleton braid. This braid is definitely trickier than your typical braid, but it’s totally doable. All you have to do is create a braid at the crown of your head by dividing a small section of hair in the middle of your head and weaving it all the way to the ends before securing it with a mini elastic. Once your braid is secured, fluff it up to give it a bit more volume. Next, starting at the front of your face, pull small sections of hair back and tuck them into each loosened loop of your braid. As you entwine these new sections of hair with your braid, make sure you pull them all the way through so that they become part of the other side of hair. When you reach the end of your braid, take out the clear elastic and weave that small section down toward the ends. Since you’re continually adding more hair into each stitch of your braid, it will get longer, so you’ll need to re-braid the ends to be able to incorporate the loose hair. Once you finish braiding, re-secure your braid with the clear elastic, and you’re done.

OK, so the skeleton braid may take some practice, but that’s what friends are for. And if you want to spend a little more time mastering this particular plait, you can also read our step-by-step tutorial.

Try a boho, layered braid.Get ready for some serious bohemian vibes, y’all. To get the look, grab a small section of hair on one side of your head, an inch or two down from your part. Twist this section of hair back toward the crown of your head and pin it in place on the opposite side of your head. Next, switch to the other side of your head and create an identical twist, only this time pinning on the side where your first twist was created. Repeat these back and forth twists two more times.

Once you’re finished twisting, split your remaining hair into two equal sections, a top and a bottom. Then, split the bottom section into two equal side-by-side sections so that you have three sections altogether. Split each bottom section into three strands and weave a traditional braid with each. Secure them each with a mini elastic before fluffing them up. Next, split the remaining top section into two sections to create a fishtail braid. Once you reach the ends of your fishtail braid, secure it with a clear elastic before gently tugging at each weave to create a more voluminous braid. Now that all of your braids are woven, it’s time to combine them into one gorgeous, boho look. All you have to do is pin the fishtail braid on top of the two traditional braids and secure them at the ends with a clear mini elastic.

Organized without a physical meeting in line with pandemic measures, the festival will include kitchen workshops, gastro shows, interviews and panels reflecting Adana’s traditional culinary riches. The festival will go beyond the borders of Adana and bring all the colors of the city to large audiences in the digital world. The festival, which will be organized under the auspices of the Adana Governorship, aims to introduce Adana’s gastronomic values to the whole world.
Underlining that Adana has become a city of taste with its rich culinary culture, Adana Governor Süleyman Elban said, “Our country and the whole world have entered a different period due to the pandemic. In this new period, maximum level of isolation and hygiene measures are also on our agenda. Our festival, which will be held by paying attention to social distance, will introduce Adana’s local gastronomic values to the whole world. As part of the festival, we will host many famous chefs in our city and host different events. This year, we will carry the enthusiasm of our festival to digital, as our people cannot be present in the event areas due to pandemic measures. “I sincerely thank our chefs, opinion leaders, non-governmental organizations, journalists, representatives of the digital media, Adana Metropolitan Mayor and District Mayors, and all other institutions and organizations that support us, who will participate in the 4th International Adana Taste Festival.” Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar made the following statements about the festival: “The International Adana Taste Festival plays a very important role in creating a wide awareness about Adana’s rich cuisine culture. Although we cannot meet our people in the festival area this year, we will ensure the sustainability of this important event by using the opportunities of the digital world. I believe that the International Adana Taste Festival, which will be held under the auspices of the Adana Governorship, will make a great contribution to the promotion of our city. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to our festival. “
