These New Hand Sanitizing Wipes Are What We Need Right Now

Calling all social-distancing families. The Honest Company just launched Keepin’ It Clean Alcohol Wipes and Disinfecting Spray, and they’ll speak to your quarantined-and-trying-to-survive-2020 soul. The clean formulas are made without harsh chemicals and chlorine bleach. BONUS: The Disinfecting Spray is an EPA-registered disinfectant to use against COVID-19. Yes, I finally feel like I’m winning at something this year.

Here’s How the CDC Recommends Cleaning Your Home

Keeping it honest here. I’m an OG Honest Company fan. From the baby and home products to their clean cosmetic line Honest Beauty, I’ve tried a healthy array of their products. My love for the company goes way back when founder Jessica Alba released her 2013 lifestyle book on clean living, The Honest Life.

Now, as a mom of two, I’m drawn to the brand’s eco-friendly mission and effective clean products. The kinds of baby and household products we allow into our home matter, and the Honest Company was one of the first brands to reach a wide market with an array of affordable and trustworthy products. Confession: I also love bumping into their products during my self-care Target runs!

After I received my samples from Honest, I tested them on my living room table and my daughter’s foam play mat. The formula was gentle on my hands and left the surface areas super clean. The next time I’m in a public park and my kid touches something yucky without having any water around (and let’s face it, who wants to touch a faucet or water foundation these days?), I can whip these out and be done since they’re also gentle enough to use on the kiddos. The formula also includes aloe meant to prevent cracked, dry hands because we all know counting to 20 or singing the Happy Birthday song twice has aged our hands by 10 years. What year is it anyway?

I kid.

The wipes are made with 65% alcohol, which meets the Center for Disease Control’s standards for the recommended alcohol level to kill germs. And with so many hand sanitizers containing methanol, which can be lethal, having another safe option is what we need right now.
