Easiest Way To Make Simple Cable Scarf

Today we’ll look at closer to Simple Cable Scarf.

What You Need

  • Yarn : 2 ball yarn in DK/light worsted
  • Knitting Needle : 4mm (US 6) Single Pointed needles, cable needle
  • Gauge : 10 cm : 20 sts in stockinette

 

Abbreviation

  • cast on
  • K : knit
  • P : purl
  • Sts : stitches
  • Bind Off
  • LC : Left cable
  • 3/3LC : slip 3 sts into cable needle, put it in front of work, knit next 3 sts, then knit 3 sts from cable needle.

Suggestion : Better be blocked after finished.

Pattern

Cast On : 28 sts

Row 1, 3, 7, 9 : [K1, P1] 4x, K1, P2, K6, P2, [K1, P1] 4x, K1

Row 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 : K1, P8], K2, P6, K2, [P8, K1]

Row 5 (RS) : [K1, P1] 4x, K1, P2, 3/3LC, P2, [K1, P1] 4x, K1

 

Repeat 10 row above until you reach the length you want

Bind Off.

Don’t forget to block your scarf so the beauty of the stitches will be shown. If you using steam blocking with steam iron or damp towel/pillow case (like me), don’t forget to put the wrong side up and hide the right side when you pin it into mat.

Additional Note :

You can change LC with RC (right cable). Or maybe playing with simple intarsia for the cable part.
